Visitors
looking for a bargain or two will no doubt enjoy browsing around
Pascale's nearby shop, which is crammed with antiques and brocante!
The
twin communities of Barneville and Carteret have much to offer
visitors. In addition to the award-winning beaches there are plenty
of glorious walking opportunities around the rocky, lighthouse-topped
headland and around the coastal fringes. To one side of the town's
harbour is a modern marina popular with sailing enthusiasts, while
on the other are the moorings of the colourful fishing fleet.
These boats arrive laden with baskets containing sea-fresh fish,
lobsters, mussels and oysters that feature on stalls at the bustling
Saturday market, and on menus at the numerous local Normandy restaurants.
Barneville
town centre - just an easy walk from the Ferme des Grèves
- has numerous facilities including a supermarket, a boulangerie
offering mouth-watering baguettes and pastries, a butcher, a bank
and a post office.
